Controllers who transfer data to another organisation acting as a processor will need to make sure that they have an agreement or contract in place and that they will only process the data in accordance with your instructions.

Some large processors, for example, email providers or online customer relationship management systems, may have a standard signed processor agreement in place that they provide to their customers. This should always be checked thoroughly to make sure that it meets your requirements.

If for example, you use a local bookkeeper to do your accounts or a virtual assistant, then a Processor Agreement would be required.
